Hey Hannah,

It’s packed, yes. I don’t know what Nomadic Matt said, but friends of us have been there and had a great time. They told us the prices went up like crazy, so the cheap times are gone, it seems.

Personally, we prefer Puerto Escondido over Tulum at this time.

I read at Nomaidc Matts blog that it’s not a cool place; quite trashy and well, he straight forward my said it’s hell. What do you think? In between going to Tulum, Cancun or Puerto Escondido. But that is literally going the other way.

Hey Lillian,

This totally depends on your itinerary, really. Personally, I prefer first Mexico City and then heading to the East Coast with Tulum, Cancun.
I would add Guadalajara to your list, for obvious reason. Have a look at the itinerary guide for Mexico here. That covers all questions I hope 🙂
