Hey Zak,

Thanks, Zak! Enjoy Japan! Wow, Manga Art Hotel looks amazing! The name is confusing though; it has really capsule beds.
It even has Female Dormitory Rooms, which is great for the female solo traveler!

You can only book it on Booking.com, it seems. Hostelz only lists it with Booking.com, not Hostelworld.

Safe travels,
Matt

This is like one of the best articles online, thank you. I’m traveling to Japan for a few weeks as soon as it opens and planning to document my journey. So this is extremely helpful. I also recommend the Manga Hostel in Tokyo it’s awesome!

I am so happy you featured them, though! The people who run it are so friendly and lovely people, and the hospitality in Uchiko can’t be beat. I used to go there during cafe hours with friends to just chat! Seriously, Uchiko is one of my favorite towns in Japan. (If anyone goes there, check out Zum Schwarzen Keiler, the German restaurant up the road. You won’t regret it! My favorite restaurant in the area, and the owners are SO wonderful! Cafe Beans near the station also has excellent soy-milk smoothies and delicious daily lunches. Also run by a lovely couple!) Honestly, if you have time to make Uchiko a stop, do it!!
